ADAMTS13 Testing

Routine ADAMTS13 activity testing is available via the AcuStar analyser in Haemostasis and Thrombosis reference laboratory at QMC in Nottingham (Lead BMS is Richard Kirby, Contact number is 0115 924 9924 ext 83927).

At present, urgent ADAMTS13 activity testing is sometimes available via Nottingham. Any potential cases need to be discussed with clinicians within the East Midlands TTP Service in the first instance, and we will establish whether urgent testing available or whether samples need to be sent elsewhere for urgent testing (eg Sheffield or UCL).

At present, if ADAMTS13 activity found to be low, then confirmatory testing of ADAMTS13 activity and testing for ADAMTS13 antibody, is done by samples being sent to UCL.
