ADAMTS13 Testing

Samples MUST arrive between 09:00 and 16:00 Monday to Friday with this form (Please avoid public holidays) and should be discussed with the Haematology Consultant/Reg on call.

At least 3ml of fresh citrated blood is required for ADAMTS13 assays.

Whole blood can be shipped at ambient temperature, but should reach our laboratory within 4 hours of being taken, OR Centrifuge sample at 2600g for 10 minutes and pipette plasma into 4 x 0.5ml aliquots. Clearly label all aliquots with NAME, NHS NUMBER, SAMPLE DATE. Freeze at -70C and ship 2 of the aliquots in a suitable container to ensure they arrive at the address below frozen. The remaining two aliquots should be stored at -70C as backup samples.
